Maro Kakavela was born in 1967 in Athens, specifically in Votanikos. She still lives there, below Omonoia, in the soft underbelly of the city, which she loves.
She studied mechanical engineering at the University of Patras, Journalism at the College of Journalism Studies, and Directing at the Stavrakos School.
She has gone through forty waves and as many jobs, from copywriter at MEGA to production assistant in BLACK OUT by Menelaos Karamaghiolis and dialogue writer in TV series.
Of course, the engineering profession is her bread and butter, and the translations she sometimes completes are her sponge cake.
She has attended creative writing courses for three consecutive years at the Patakis School with Nikos Davvetas and completed the three-year theatre writing course at the Poreia Theatre.
Her scattered writings have been published in online literary magazines and on her personal Facebook page.
She has no children, but she does have a dog, Orestes.

They’ve never been, and now it’s time for them to be? Are there any answers, or are they all figments of an alcoholic mind?
