Parker Bilal is the pseudonym of the British-Sudanese author Jamal Mahjoub. Mahjoub has published several critically acclaimed literary novels, which have been widely translated. Born in London and studied geology at the University of Sheffield (a wrong initial orientation, as he has said), he had lived at various times in the UK, Sudan, Cairo, Denmark, and Barcelona, before he settled in Amsterdam. He speaks six languages. His work translated into Greek for the first time.
